DWR Treatment

Your Mia Melon jacket comes preloaded with a high grade, environmentally friendly Durable Water Repellent (DWR) to keep water out, making your jacket as comfortable and wearable as it is beautiful. All weatherproof garments need maintenance - it’s how they remain weatherproof. To determine when you should revive your DWR coating, test your jacket - if the water does not bead/roll off or it, does water bead or roll off of it, it’s time for a reload. Quality DWR can be purchased at any outdoor retailers or directly through our website right here.

Fabrics

One of the most unique aspects of Mia Melon is that we design jackets that are both weatherproof and stylish, a rarity in the industry. We compromise neither efficiency nor style in our quest to bring you durable, high fashion outerwear. Our fabrics play a big role in what sets our jackets apart. Most outdoor stores carry jackets that are certainly weatherproof, but not necessarily stylish. This has a lot to do with the fabrics used.

Most jackets of this type are constructed using fabrics like polyester and nylon, which can offer a lot in terms of weatherproofing, but leave something to be desired in terms of fashion. These fabrics are what give jackets their sporty look, which doesn’t fit every occasion. We identified a need for more fashionable outerwear and we made this a reality, partly by using more urban fabrics.

Thanks to current DWR technology, there’s no reason why a cotton shell can’t perform just as well as a techy-looking poly one. We use stylish, comfortable and luxurious fabrics such as cotton jersey, wool blend, sweater knit, cotton denim, cotton herringbone and cotton twill, because technology can transform any street fabric into a high performance weatherproof wonder.

In addition to this, Mia Melon jackets are made with two very special features;

• Inner Micro-fleece - Experience cozy comfort with a high quality micro-fleece interior. Luxurious softness ensures the utmost comfort - no scratching or itching.

• Special Thermal Membrane - Bonded in-between the micro-fleece and wool is the secret to the coat’s performance. We insert a waterproof and windproof thermal membrane that deflects your body heat back towards your body. This membrane is a multitasker- it also acts as a wind barrier, keeping the wind chill out and warmth in. Less material with the same amount of warmth and performance means a lighter feel and a less clunky, more fashionable look.

Weatherproof Construction

Our special Weatherproof Me coating keeps you dry and comfortable in virtually any climate. It’s even been tested by labs and even has the seal of approval from U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Significantly less duty is charged on waterproof garments, and as such, are randomly tested for their waterproof capabilities. Mia Melon garments were were among those tested and they passed meticulous inspection with flying colours.

Our jackets are weatherproof and 99 percent waterproof, and the only reason for that missing one percent is that we do not tape the seams of our specially bonded fabrics. Taping the seams would mean sacrificing style. Because we know that sacrificing a mere one percent does not compromise the quality, durability or efficiency of our jackets, we are fully comfortable with our 99% waterproof rating.

Update Feb.28th, 2021~ Our warehouse ships Monday to Friday.  Orders are shipping out NEXT DAY from order placement and you should receive your order between 1-2 days (West coast), 2-3 days (Mid USA) and 3-5 (East Coast) 1-12 days (Canada- shipping times will vary dependent if we have stock in Canada or USA) and 12 to 21 days (International) after your order is placed. Please note: Our warehouse is closed on National holidays and weekends.

International Orders excluding Canada- Taxes and Duties

All applicable custom fees, taxes and duties are the sole responsibility of the customer. Customs policies vary from country to country - please consult your country's customs office for an accurate estimate. All international packages are subject to possible customs delays.

Canada Orders - Taxes and Duties

Some Canadian orders will ship from our USA warehouse dependent on stock in our Canadian warehouse. If your order consists of one item only, should there be any duties, please send us the receipt so that we may activate an online store credit for that amount!

Pre-Paid Orders- Prepaid orders should ship near the date specified, however, there can be unexpected delays that are beyond our control. We will do our best to update you whenever possible on such delays.

Lost/Stolen Packages - It is the customers responsibility to ensure their package is received at their end. Packages that are lost or stolen or packages that are returned due to no attempt to collect or late collection, are the customers sole responsibility and Mia Melon will not be held accountable. Please contact the appropriate carrier that your item was shipped with (you will find the tracking number on the order once it is shipped). Mia Melon will assist customers whose orders have returned to the warehouse due to non pick up or incorrect address placed by re-shipping the item (a re-ship fee may apply).

Dear Mia Melon & One Man Outerwear Customers: We are a smaller brand, but growing thanks to your support. We work hard to ensure everyone is happy. We do offer refunds on regular priced items within 45 days of receipt of your order but would appreciate any consideration for exchanges or online store credit.

Please note, do not send a note within the RA box for what you want to exchange to as our warehouse will not forward them to customer service.

Please notify us once your return has been sent (this applies to ALL return items) Once your item is returned back to our warehouse with all tags, unworn and inspected, we will issue you a refund of the value of your jacket or exchange (based on inventory available) or activate your online credit which has no expiry date! (see above for items available for exchange or online store credit). For online credit, you just take the code given to you and simply apply it at the "CART" page once you have items in your cart and continue to the check out page.

Please note:  That your online credit code cannot be combined with a percentage code (promo code) but can be used with the BOGO deal. If you have another code to apply (promotional code) and want to also use your store credit, please reach out via text or chat so we can refund the difference that the promotional code was offering! Please also note, that when entering a discount code, YOU MUST arrow/click back to the CART page and apply the code - All codes work with the automatic BOGO DEAL!!!!!

Should your order allow for a Refund, please expect a refund back to your original form of payment between 2-5 weeks from the return of your item to our warehouse, once it has been inspected.

Repairs: Mia Melon is committed to offering the finest products, using only the best materials and applying strict quality control standards. 

Should there be a manufacturing defect within 1 year from date of purchase, at our discretion we will either offer a specific dollar value to have it repaired, replace it or initiate an online store credit. Only original, unaltered and unmodified items and workmanship are covered. This warranty does not cover damage caused by accident, improper care, negligence, the deterioration of water repellent, normal wear and tear, or the natural breakdown of colors and materials over extended time and use.
